"FOUR MISTAKES AT TIME OF INTERVIEW"

We conducted a survey it was found that there are some common mistakes made by candidates at the time of interview. Looking to the competitive scenario, In today’s corporate world there used to be 100 of candidates for a single opportunity. So it’s very important to take care of the general mistakes to avoid rejection or increase the chances of your candidature for the carrier opportunity. After taking so many interviews we have tried to summarize some common mistakes both general & soft skill wise. GENERAL PREPARATION: 1) Punctuality:- MISTAKES:- a) Not reaching the venue of interview at the prescribed time. b) Extra exertion CORRECTIONS:- a) As first impression is the last impression, so candidate should be available for the interview before 15 min of the prescribed time. b) Punctuality doesn’t mean to over exert yourself because over exertion can hamper mental stability, calmness, patience & confidence. 2) Proactiveness:- MISTAKES:- a) Overall personality of the candidate b) Documents c) Lack of Preparation CORRECTIONS:- a) Candidate should be well groomed in terms of dressing sense. b) Candidate should carry all documents like certificates related to education & experience including salary details like his salary slips, CTC letter etc. c) Candidate should be prepared in terms of Company details, job details, justification of own profile & suitability of candidate for the profile applied. SOFT SKILLS:- 3) Attitude MISTAKES:- a) Representation b) Flexibility c) Smartness CORRECTIONS:- a) Representation should be original, i.e Candidate should not pretend which he/she is not, otherwise there are chances of rejection at the time of HR round b) Candidate should be flexible in terms of profile, designation, salary, etc. c) The candidate should be smart enough to carry himself but he should be down to earth. 4) Interaction MISTAKES:- a) Listening b) Communication CORRECTIONS:- a) Listen properly to answer appropriately. b) Candidate should furnish his communication- Proper ascent, Flow of communication, politeness. Learning is a lifelong process, so always there is scope of Improvement. Nobody is perfect but we can try to be.

"Salary Negotiation…..an ART"

For us career is the first priority in life. It plays a vital role in building overall growth & development and defines Success. Whenever we look for growth we seek for different opportunities relating to job and on the journey we think on various factors like brand, job profile, work culture, roles and responsibilities, growth, location and last but most important SALARY or COMPENSATION. Whenever we think about all the factors “Compensation” always come out as major constraint where we always get stuck and make mistakes and find it difficult to negotiate in salary. As it’s quoted that “Money is honey” to get this honey we need to put all our efforts. And to reduce our efforts and mistakes which we usually do in salary negotiation we are coming up with 3 major mistakes that you are going to make. • Lack of knowledge: Whenever it come to offer letter or salary break up the major problem is in understanding technical/legal part. Because there are various components in it about which we don’t have proper idea like gratuity, bonus, P.F, other benefits etc. Mainly we focus on basic salary and in hand salary and ignore other benefits which also stand with equal importance. We have myth that if the basic is more saving will be more but it’s not true even if the basic is less but other annual components is more the saving will be high. Thus to avoid this we can discuss about the break up & offer with an experienced person who is having good knowledge of this like HR, consultants, colleagues and friends. • Negotiation on offers: It’s a very true Saying that human by nature is greedy. Many times we are having one offer in one hand and try to negotiate on the other offer in other hand, without considering job profile, career growth and opportunities. We try to negotiate and get more and more hike. To avoid this we need to compare both the offers considering job profile, brand name, job responsibilities, and salary as well to take a right decision. • Grapevine: Rumor is the best part and we always love to do it. We do it because we believe and trust on what other says without putting our mind. It’s in human veins that we can never be satisfied with what we are having. We always keep an eye on what others are getting. In terms of offer we always compare our offer with others without going into the depth. To avoid this we need to think on our efficiency and potential which also includes experience, skills and qualification etc. Mistake is a never ending process every minute we do a new mistake Even if we have discussed these 3 points it’s not the end. There are certain others which are in queue.
